As promised a view on what should be in your kitchen, in supply in the pantry. We all have dishes we cook and then we all have certain types of food we like. These items are basics in the kitchen and should be restocked when out.

For baking, flour, sugar, eggs and vanilla
For light meals. Soup mix, bread, buns, butter or smart balance, mayo, other sandwich spreads to taste
Salads: lettuce, choice of veggies such as radishes, carrots, celery, green beans, cabbage, kale, cilantro, onions and at least two salad dressings
Pantry shelf, two kinds of vinegar: red and white wine are good choices, three oils: olive, coconut, ghee, cornstarch, baking soda, Baking powder, cocoa, mustard, ketsup, pickle relish, corn meal
Dip mixes: up to three or four for making dips or chips or veggies
Frozen veggies: ones you like such as broccoli, peas, corn, artichokes, mixed veggies
For difference types of foods the basic condiments:
Asian: sherry, soy sauce and ginger root, terryaki, rices
Italian: Herbs of your choice: dried or fresh and pasta

I am not that familiar with so many of the cuisines and other food choices. Your shelf should be stocked with the spices, condiments and sauces that you use.

For grilling: BBQ rubs and different meat, poultry, pork and chicken meat marinade spices, the ones you like and use.
Non-alcoholic drinks that you like: should have some stocked ready for chilling.

In my kitchen, I am ready to fill in with other groceries and with these basics, we are always good to make a light bite or meal. I am sure you will have specifics for your individual food likes and be sure to have them on hand.

Later
