The Maintenance Technician is involved in equipment repair and preventive maintenance to prevent downtime of machinery consistent with company goals, business unit Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to include safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Functions as a member of the shift Maintenance Team and rapidly responds to equipment related problems.
• Applies maintenance troubleshooting skills in a wide variety of machine applications in response to production requirements (VFDs, Electrical Controls, Power Distribution Systems, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, HVAC, etc..).
• Communicates information to Maintenance Manager and Production Manger regarding technical issues, equipment problems, and continuous improvement ideas.
• Documents equipment repairs/findings onto work orders for input into Maintenance Management System (MMS).
• Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM’s), inspections and/or repair of equipment during shutdowns which may require weekend work and/or shift reassignment in response to production requirements.
• Supports the installation and start-up of new equipment.
• Performs welding and machine shop tasks related to repair of equipment and machinery.
• Works with equipment vendors or technical representatives on re-builds, service visits and equipment training to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoots control wiring, relay logic, motor drive circuits, control system devices, photo eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, and transducers.
• Utilizes Digital Volt Meter, Mega OHM Meter and AMP probes to diagnose electrical problems.
Qualifications
2 year Technical School or Associates Degree, preferred.
Experience with Krones equipment
5+ years related experience
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
• Reading multi meter
• Reading Electrical Prints
• Reading Hydraulic Prints
• Reading Pneumatic Prints
• Micrometers and Calipers
• AC/DC Control Circuits 120 VAC/ 24VDC
• Power Distributions Systems 480/277 VAC
