Sales Applications Engineer

The Sales Applications Engineer works closely with the Software Sales Manager, customer and the software engineers to develop accurate and attainable software requirements, a tailored experience meeting those requirements and assurance of scoped & timely delivery. Engineer must possess technical knowledge of the power management industry, be able to be "hands on" in the development of user interfaces and effective at communicating with both the customer and internal teams of vision, requirements, schedules and expectations.

 

Position Requirements: Essential Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Comfortable in presenting and collaborating directly with the customer

• Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge

• Demonstrable UI & UX design skills with a strong portfolio

• Strong design sense

• Ability to develop schedules and establish reasonable milestones

 

 Technical Skills

• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite of products

• Expert level skill with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Web services, XML, PHP

• Strong understanding of JAVA, MySQL, MS SQL

• Understanding of power backup & building management strategies

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience

• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering

• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

• Interface with customers to gather and establish project requirements

• Communicate customer needs and requests to software engineering & project management teams

• Work with software engineering team to design solutions based on requirements

• Create prototypes of proposed solutions for requirements gathering and demonstration purposes

• Demonstrate solutions and gain approval from customers

• Provide visual and design standards for all software solutions

• Provide user interaction standards and guidelines for all software solutions

• Act as Information Architect for software solutions

• Respond to RFP's and develop formal presentations for opportunities

• Structure pricing and scope of work

• Serve as a technical resource to the Sales division for information related to POWERVAR products
