Title:                    Physical Therapy Supervisor/Internal Team Lead

Reports to:           Therapy Director

 

Job Summary:

Provides direct supervision to field staff therapists/assistants and works with the Therapy Director to ensure quality of care to patients and families. Preference some experience in Pediatrics.

 

Job Qualifications:

Education:            Bachelor’s, Master’s, degree in an accredited Therapy discipline

Licensure:             TX State License in good standing as a Physical Therapist.

Experience:          Minimum of 3 years Professional experience as a licensed Therapist

                          Minimum of 1 year Supervisory experience with assistant(s) or a team as a                               licensed Therapist. Prefer at least 1 year Professional experience in a Home                             Health environment

Technical Skills:    Clinical expertise in Professional discipline. Meets or exceeds performance                               standards on the Therapist Performance Appraisal

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises field therapists/assistants within Professional discipline

  • Orients new employees within discipline to agency and therapy policies

  • Conducts supervisory observation visits with field staff upon initial hire and at least once every 180 days; and provide mentorship and supervision as needed to ensure clinical competency of therapists

  • Assists with assignment of patients to therapists and helps manage caseloads to meet patient and therapist needs

  • Performs evaluations and treatment visits to maintain a caseload of a minimum of 10 visits/week, and to help build caseloads for field therapists/assistants as needed

  • Reviews weekly therapy documentation for quality assurance and to oversee plan of care compliance

  • Helps perform clinical interviews to provide discipline-specific insight for hiring of quality therapists

  • Promotes coordination of care between disciplines and with outside agencies through regular communication and collaboration

  • Assists with Marketing, Recruiting, and Community education as requested and available

  • Assists with corrective action plans and annual performance reviews of field staff

  • Other duties as assigned and discussed with Therapy Director
