Position Summary: Provide HR consulting services to management in assigned territory. Ensures procedures, practices and programs are consistent with established state and Federal regulations in the San Antonio and South Texas area. Responsibilities
•Work with Plant Managers to develop work environments, effect culture change, and produce working conditions which maximize effective use of human potential and results in maximum productivity, profitability and job satisfaction.
•Provide consulting and counseling services to Management regarding all functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, Government Compliance Programs, Employment Practices, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Safety, Workers’ Compensation, Company Policy Compliance, Organizational Development, Legal Defense Issues, Wage & Salary Administration, Benefits Administration, Employee Development and Training, etc.
•Coordinate the development of HR Business Plan with each Plant Manager addressing issues of organization, safety, training, community relations and compensation programs.
•Will act as resource for employee questions regarding employee relation issues.
•Coordinate with Administrators and Plant Managers to ensure a complete understanding of HR procedures/practices.
•Administer and monitor salary planning and approved salary administration plans.
•Will perform all functions with regard to Human Resources including providing guidance to management on employee relations issues, training, investigations, addressing benefits and policies questions and performing all other job duties as required.
•Coordinate with H.R. Director, the formulation and/or modification of Human Resource policies.
•Coordinate with Safety Manager to insure compliance with all Federal, State and Local programs, as well as, the company & business unit programs.
•Remain contemporary in the field of Human Resources.
•Provide administrative services as necessary to insure all above duties and functions are performed successfully.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline or equivalent experience required.
•5 - 7 years of HR Department experience preferred, preferably in mining, heavy manufacturing or construction environment.
•SPHR or PHR Preferred.
•Bi-Lingual (English – Spanish) skill strongly preferred.
•Thorough knowledge of employment and benefits programs, procedures and administration.
•Ability to work efficiently with managers and employees at all levels of the organization.
•General knowledge of payroll procedures and administration.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and knowledge in HR/Payroll system.
•Good working knowledge of state and federal legislation relating to employment, such as MSHA, ADA, EEOC, TWC, etc., and related knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and unemployment regulations.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to work with minimal supervision.
•Willingness and ability to travel within San Antonio and South Texas.
