Software Developer/Programmer, C/C++/Java, SQL, WebObjects   Location: Houston, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and build best-of-class applications to support the commodity trading industry

• Define and adhere to consistent development methodologies that are both extensible and flexible enough to accommodate an ever-changing marketplace

• Documentation of design patterns

Experience

• 3+ years of experience with and strong command of C/C++/Java and SQL

• Experience with database development - ER modeling, transactions, and SQL (Sybase/SQL Server/Oracle a plus.

• Strong analysis and debugging skills

• Comfortable with Unix development environments (Mac OX X & Solaris preferred) Experience in building database-driven, enterprise-class applications

• Experience with Configuration Management and best-practice application deployment procedures Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, EE, or relevant industry experience preferred.

Network/Desktop Support

 

Will provide a wide variety of duties to support the Company’s desktop and network computing infrastructure. Will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of Microsoft back office servers and applications, desktops and network management. Additionally, the individual will conduct necessary technology research, test and implement new systems, train employees as needed, and perform related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support and security of the Company’s computing assets which include Microsoft Windows servers and desktops; network routers, firewalls, and switches; and phone and voice mail systems.

• Responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and upgrade of all business applications and desktop software.

• Responsible for backup of data, including automatic backup routines, testing data integrity and managing off site tape storage.

• Work with other groups to identify, implement and test new applications and technology to support business objectives. Provide training as necessary.

• Works with other Company groups to establish, implement and maintain standards for system architecture, data management, and system security and manages compliance for these standards.

• Reports weekly to manager on operations problems, issues and concerns.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Must be knowledgeable on Microsoft Small Business Server, Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange 2003, IIS, DNS, TCP/IP, Cisco routers and firewalls, Microsoft XP  professional and previous versions, Microsoft Office applications, Veritas backup applications and general hardware server and desktop configuration tools.

Desired:

• Knowledge of Mail Security for Exchange 2003, Symantec Anti-Virus software, SQL Server, Query Analyzer and desktop imaging a plus.

• HTML, ASP, VB Script programming a plus.

.Net Programmer Developer

 

Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications in Microsoft .net.  Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.  Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  May report directly to a project lead or manager.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

• Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems considering project scope and objectives.

• Develops computer programs, systems, and related procedures.

• Develops test media for checking new programs code and install programs.

• Ensures quality of new systems and programs by utilizing TQM methodology.

• Provides backup support to production systems and troubleshooting.

• Acquires and maintains up-to-date technical and business knowledge.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum three years experience in related field.

• Must have programming (VB.NET & SQL Server) and program design experience.

• Must be a current U.S. citizen or have a green Card. Sponsorship is not available.
